After many years of faithful service, the LVS was replaced in 2009 by the LVSR, Logistics Vehicle System Replacement. This new model sports a 10-wheel-drive system and features Oshkosh's proven TAK-4 fully independent suspension. Also new for the LVSR are an improved weapons turret powered by an electric motor, and integrated vehicle armor with the ability to add more. With a 22.5-ton on-road and 16.5-ton off-road payload capacity and power from a 600hp Caterpillar C15 diesel engine, the LVSR has the capacity and power to carry whatever the mission requires. It can haul flatracks, ISO shipping containers, bridging equipment, boats, fuel containers, and much more.For the ultimate in versatility, the LVSR is available in three variations: the MKR15 Wrecker, MKR16 Tractor, and MKR18 Cargo.
